LIVING IN BUDAPEST

Hungary is a small country, about the size of Indiana. A member of the European Union, Hungary developed its distinctive culture over a thousand-year history, blending influences from the East and West. Budapest, the capital, has a population of around two million people. It is a beautiful European city with a scenic combination of natural and architectural beauty on the banks of the Duna (Danube) River. Budapest is famous for its graceful bridges, green parks, vibrant culture, and delicious food.

Students interested in learning about Hungarian language and culture are encouraged to take the optional Babilon course offered before the start of the semester in Hungary. The course includes a tour of the city and practical skills for everyday living in Budapest.

Students are housed together in BSM approved furnished apartments near the historic city center.

With excellent and inexpensive public transportation, Budapest is an easy city to navigate.
